Trust & Disputes FAQ

Can you block or avoid dealing with a specific buyer or seller again?

Short answer: On a well-built platform, yes — having the ability to decline future interaction with a specific trader you've had a bad experience with is a reasonable and expected feature, giving you control over who you continue to deal with rather than being forced into repeat exposure to someone you'd rather avoid.

Why this control matters

A bad experience with one specific trader shouldn’t mean you have to keep encountering them — the ability to avoid future dealings with a specific account is a basic form of control that protects you going forward.

How this differs from reporting

Blocking is about your own future interactions; reporting (covered separately) is about flagging genuinely problematic behaviour that affects the platform more broadly — both are useful, for different purposes.

What this doesn’t solve on its own

Blocking someone protects you individually but doesn’t address whether that trader continues to pose a risk to others — for genuinely problematic behaviour, reporting is the more appropriate additional step.

How ScrapTrade Fits In

ScrapTrade gives traders control over who they continue to engage with, alongside the option to report genuinely problematic behaviour.

Trading scrap with strangers doesn’t have to mean trading on trust alone. ScrapTrade connects verified buyers and sellers with escrow-protected payments and transparent weighing.
